The
venue of Amaravati where H.H.Dalai Lama will give teachings and initiation
is a large open field over looking River Krishna where a huge new 90 ft. statue
of Lord Buddha in Dhyana Mudra is being made which will be ready just before
the Kalachakra event begins and this is just near the original Maha Stupa of
Amaravati.

Amaravati
is a small rural village which is predominantly Hindu and with a small population
of Muslims too. There is a very sacred and an old temple just upon entering
the village. On the banks of River Krishna a Hanuman and Sai Baba temple is
also there. The people in this region are very simple and friendly who are mostly
farmers as well run small shops. During this sacred event a huge temporary township
will emerge where many shops and stalls will open up to sell food, vegetables,
fruits, local arts and crafts and Tibetans will also display the products. This
place will get absolutely bustling where diverse people especially Buddhists
will come from as far as Tibet, Ladakh, Zanskar, Spiti, Dharamsala, Mussorie,
Sikkim, Darjeeling, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, Europe, North
America, Australia and Japan.
Many high Lamas, monks, nuns, political dignitaries and world personalities
will all meet here and get this rare spiritual empowerment.
